The Centre performs tasks in the following fields:
- admitting and accommodating foreigners, identifying them and keeping accommodation records;
- deciding on temporary residence permits;
- deciding on ways of returning foreigners to their country of origin and on milder housing-related measures;
- obtaining documents for foreigners and organising their return;
- providing food as well as health and social services;
- enforcing house rules and taking action against any criminal offences and public policy violations;
- overseeing the financial and material operations in relation to foreigners as provided by law;
- performing stricter policing;
- escorting and transporting foreigners;
- performing sanitation and disinfection procedures;
- working with minor foreigners in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child;
- issuing permits and imposing measures for foreigners with special needs;
- organising daily activities of foreigners staying in the Centre;
- monitoring the health and sanitation status of the facilities;
- providing foreigners with food, clothing, personal hygiene items and bedding;
- protecting the premises, foreigners and employees;
- setting up and running projects for the absorption of EU funds.
